Audio Sermons Help
If you
encounter problems with playing the audio sermons, perhaps the
following troubleshooting tips may help you identify and correct
the problem.
I Have A High Speed
Connection But The Sound Does Not Begin Right Away
This is normal.
Because the audio clip will usually play faster than it can be downloaded, your
media player calculates how much of the file it needs to download first before
it begins to play, so that the audio clip can be played in its entirety without
having to stop and wait for more to be downloaded.
Playback Does Not
Work Well (Or At All) On My Dialup Phone Line Connection
If your computer can play mp3 sound files located on compact disks and you are a member
or are or were an attender at Calvary, contact the church office to see if the sermons you
are interested in are available on CD. Contact information appears at the bottom of this page.
Incomplete
Playback
If the audio clip
plays for a while and then either starts to break up or quits entirely, then
your media player probably has not correctly calculated how much of it to
download before it begins playing. A cure for this is to first right-click on
the audio clip and "Save Target As.." and select "Desktop" (or another location
of your choice; just remember where you put it) to first download it in its
entirety to your computer. Then after the download has completed, click on the
downloaded file to play it. Be aware that a sermon clip is a large file, so the
download time can range from about 5 minutes on a broadband cable connection to
an hour or more on a dialup connection. Don't forget to right-click and delete
it afterward, as each file is somewhere around 12 megabytes in size.
Audio Clip Does Not Play At All
Your media
player may be an older one that does not play MP3 files. We
suggest you try installing a newer one.
